About the Project
Wall feature by artist Goh Beng Kwan emanating an abundance of colour & light.
Concept
Florence had always wanted to work with other artists to translate their creative concepts and ideas onto glass and the downtown Maybank project was ideal for a large scale collaboration with Singapore pioneer modern artist and 1989 Cultural Medallion recipient Goh Beng Kwan. Resplendent Wealth speaks of the close ties between owning wealth and owning precious metals and gems.
The rich jewel tones of the colour palette and the mixed media of glass, acrylic and silk, a luxury fabric, expresses the fluidity among the various textures and swirls and depths of colour.
Says Goh Beng Kwan of the collaboration: “All the projects we worked together on were very successful, and very challenging. Up to this day, I always enjoy passing by Maybank to see the mural we made together.”
